Kastela with fields occupy the space between the Anciant Salona and eastern borders of Trogir city area, from the coast to the peaks of mount Kozjak. In this area there are still traces of the prehistoric period: burial lots, shelters and fortified mountain peaks. In ancient times, responsible citizens and veterans of the Roman legions in this area, built castles planted with Mediterranean herbs, grapes and olives.
From twenty castles were formed seven villages: Castle Sucurac, Gomilica, Stari, Luksic, Kambelovac and Štafilic. Outside the moat were not permitted to build houses. Very quickly were formed a typical coastal, Mediterranean architecture with a single floor, building in basement or one floor with balcony and taverns, the narrow streets leading to the central square of each castles. More centuries, Castels were divided border the Ottoman Empire stretched Kozjak mount peaks in the north, and the river Jadro, at east.

Shallots are stretches 16 km east, from saddle Klis to Malacka pass (477 m) to the west this bends are separated from the neighboring hills, although in a mountaineering sense as often a single mountain. It rises like a wall upon the field at bay of Kastela, which is a sank depression between mount of Kozjak in the north and the Marjan peninsula with the island of Ciovo in the south, considered the area of exceptional landscape value, and harmony succeed, partially disrupt only by numerous industrial facilities in estern parts of Castel villages. The most beautifully fortified village in Kastela’s Kaštilac in Gomilica, built by the Benedictines from the Split city area, in the 16th century. The fort was built on a reef, completely surrounded by sea, connected the coast by the stone bridge only.
Near by, there’s the old church of St. Cusma and Damian (12th century), with a stony lace rosette carved doors. The church was built on the foundations of early Christian building. In front of the church is the oak, numbered of its 700 years, under which, by the legend, rested Croatian King Zvonimir.

The apartment is located in Castle Gomilica, between cities Trogir and Split. Close to marina Kastela, Resnik airport, railway station Split, the ferry port of Split city, located on the main link to highway Dalmatina, gives the possibility of a good relationship all over the World.

In addition to swimming, sports and recreation, as well as entertainment programs, there are organized excursions too. For recreational athletes in the area of Kastela, there are tennis courts, basketball, football, volleyball, and even can be rented boats and equipment for water activities, which is favorite resort for domestic and foreign tourists. The castle Gomilica maintained beaches are mostly sandy, suitable for children. Fun events and dancing are regularly organized.
